The reason why MG2:SS was never released in the US

First of all MG did not do very well in Japan at all and Hideo wasn't going to bother making a seqeul. In the US on the other hand it was a gold mine here and sold millions of copies. This prompted Konami's american branch Ultra games to make a unificial sequel. When Hideo found out about this he dicided to
make a real sequel, MG2:SS. However because Snake's Revenge was already out in the states they dicided not to release it in the states.

I have Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. I live in Quebec, Canada and am extremely disappointed that the game Metal Gear 2: Solid Snakes LACKS critical information.

What critical information you're asking?

The "Tap codes" that are supposedly printed on the "software manual", checked the whole game manual of subsistence, it's not their. Walkthroughs of Metal Gear 2 also mentions that. From Konami's part it's totally unacceptable to pay for game that lacks such important information. If Kojima wants us to finish the game without cheating, was it too hard for him to provide the tap codes somewhere? Or does he wants people to buy the Metal Gear 3 Subsistence's strategy guide?

Hey, take it easy:)....there is a 50 pages manual on the internet...exactly as the original.

I can remember which homepage...it was something like www.msx.sdasdassgdgsd

"Metal Gear 3 Subsistence's strategy guide?" It's not even in that piece of crap.

I wish that 50 page "novel" was included in this version. Oh, well.

The REAL reason MG2 wasn't released in America for so long?
Have you ever seen a MSX2 over there?
