You didn't see italian people so it's discrimination?

I think what was good about Kirsten Dunst's pathetic attempts to 'get down with the homies' was that her character actually knew it was pathetic. She was using club shutdown lines for street pickup lines. Neither club pickup lines nor street pickup lines are actually effective in the real world, but are used as a source of gentle playfulness. They are most often used in the real world as caricatures of themselves. Even though their cultures were quite different, they were able to get along. I'm a vanilla white guy who likes classical cello and guitar music and I had no trouble getting along with a friend of mine from NY who works in the music industry with P Diddy.
The boys portrayed in the film that were attending the sermons were boys who didn't quite make it as far as gang banger life, but were pretty typical black boys from the hood. In other words, good guys, just susceptible to making bad decisions from being in the wrong places, at the wrong times, with the wrong peers.
The only thing in this movie that I felt was genuinely crap was when Bob's character has sex with Adele. This was totally unconvincing IMHO. The rest of his character's actions were convincing though, so I just passed it up as yet another stupid hollywood sex scene, like the preposterous one in Titanic.
Morgan stunk in Wanted, but he didn't stink in this. He was playing an unusual character that was behaving in unusual ways that were just beyond the scope of his character's ability. Not Morgan's acting ability.
Overall, I quite liked it. But I've experienced similar situations, that's probably my personal bias.
