What does the wife say?

When Sandy first encounters Mrs. Hiromitsu, the two women bow to one another, Sandy says "I'm sorry" and Mrs. Hiromitsu says something I can't make out, possibly in Japanese. Did anyone catch this bit of dialogue?

She says "Dohmoh arigatoh", or, directly translated, "Thank you."

It's "Mrs. Tachibana", NOT "Mrs. Hiromitsu".

So her her four words of dialogue in this film are 'thank you' and 'thank you'! Well, she did a great job with those lines anyway!

Dialogue alone doesn't say everything about a performance. I thought the actress downplayed the part quite well.
