why do they sleep outside

When the car is in the bog, why do they sleep outside? They could have slept in the car...just wondering...

reply

I think it was so that they could be near the fire
Toni's character said that it gets really cold at night so they probably would've been in a worse situation in a car with no heat rather than outside near a constant heat source.

It was because they had a fire. Being in a car on a freezing night feels much colder than being outside

It was definitely the fire, although for much of the year around Port Hedland (the film's setting), it's pretty warm, even at night.🐭
