Feel Ripped off

All excited only when it arrived only to discover it's all hype and no horror. No pace, story and the scares are laughable. I think the director should go back to school. Now I know why it never went theatrical.

Yep. This movie is pretty *beep* terrible.
Some of the worst acting I've ever seen in an actual distrubuted movie...
And there is no atmosphere in almost any of the settings or anything.
Ridiculously bad.
I can't even stand to look at Salo's fake moustache.

There were some decent creepy ideas but they weren't even pulled off well.
It's hard to even understand what people actually do like about this film enough to LIKE it more then DISLIKE it.

I guess those who have voted 10 for this has got to be either Canadian, bribed, a relative to the producer, an actor in the movie or the producer himself...

reply

Yeah. I personally only gave it an 8.

I can't even get my money back out of it I'd have a guilty conscience if I took some one's money and delivered them this piece of crap! What a low life! I would like to start a campaign to end his career.

reply

Yeah, how dare he make a movie you didn't like! Take it to the streets. I think you should make a sandwich board that says "Horror is a bad movie! Don't watch it!" and devote the rest of your life to wearing it around your home town.

reply

So you are Canadian?:p

It baffles me how Americans consistently prove themselves
to be the dumbest and most ignorant species on the planet.

reply

I am NOT american, nor do I live there...

reply

Wow, that is totally not generalization.

The title got this one right. It was a horror. Or rather Horrible. Maybe that would have been a better title? The make up efx in the van scene reminded me of a 3rd grade school play where the kids do the make up themselves. If that was what the director was going for then he succeeded and that would make my previous sentence a compliment. If not, maybe next time he could actually look at the make up before shooting it.

The director's first movie "Desecration" was fine and he showed a lot of promise. But this one is so inferior, that it seems someone else made it. No scares, no tension, no atmosphere, hideous acting, it's Ed Wood territory all the way, and maybe it's best enjoyed as such. I wonder what his new movie Satan's Playground is like. Maybe Dante is indeed the next Ed Wood of horror.

reply

I thought the directing and cinematography were good, however, the script and acting blew and those 2 things messed the movie up.

It's intentionally surreal, dreamlike and illogical. It should be appreciated as something closer to a Bunuel movie rather than a slasher flick. I'm not saying it's perfect, but bringing standard horror expectations to it is just missing the point.

Agreed OP! Finally obtained this from my DVD trade site (yay!), only to finally watch it and realize it suckiness! (nay!) Gonna put it right back in the trade block with a big 'ol smile on my face (still has 3 in line! Those poor souls).
