Blew Me Away

I absoulutely loved this film. It was intensly sad and depressing, but from the first seen to last last i could not stop watching. It was based so much on looks and imagery. I prefer films that use the subtlety and nuance of images over dialogue. This was an amazing film.

it's amazing how silence and the intensity of the way two people look at eachother without saying a word can be... amazing.

Well said....The actors and director deserve much credit. This film felt so Canadian.

An American here, and I think the film transcends borders. The little boy playing Garnet had the most poignantly moving face I've ever seen, I think. The father, while definitely the cause of the "dysfunction" was not a bad man, just someone completely without the ability to cope with the loss of his wife. I was deeply moved by the film.

i love this movie also. the photography conveys just as much meaning as the acting. all the way until the end, i thought the movie was filmed in america. as someone else said, it transcends borders.

Funny, I wrote the same thing in another forum. sad and depressing! bUT SO BEAUTIFUL IN its portrail. I love this type of filmmaking also. Flower drove me nuts in the way she treated Garnet, could she not see how vulnerable he was? I guess that is awareness she finally comes too. They are all slow to see the suffering around them. But I loved how they wanted to keep it away form the "therapists," and talk amongst themselves. Its life and family and growing.
