Question about english sub

I have the 4 disc box set containing all 25 episodes.

During the first 2 discs there are characters such as kaze, the count, helba etc.

However on the 3rd disc the names are changed, for example Cid becomes Xido and Kaze becomes Fuyou, The count - The earl etc

Anyone know why this is? It just confused me a bit.

It's because you got yourself an illegal bootleg copy.

You should of bought ADV Film's legit. release instead.

Thanks, I wondered why the subs were so messed up. I did have my suspicions.

Answer: The English Dubbing absolulty sucked. I couldnt stand the first disc with English, So i watched all discs in Japanese. So i watched the entire series with the subbing, and I honestly dont recall any of those blunders. I know the count was also knowns as the Earl, but other then that, My discs are fine as far as subbing goes, but dont get me started on the dubbing, Yu's voice actor should have acting lessons beat into him.

Actually I watched one episode, memorized it's english dubbing, then watched it in Japanese with the subtitles.....America got the translations pretty darn close. The voice acting sucked for the English version *ESPECIALLY! Ai and Yu*

I got the ADV boxset, im not sure what the subtitles for the actual episodes are like but i noticed that in the dubbed version the subtitles for the opening music switch between English and Japanese every couple of episodes. The bootleg Japanese copies i watched before had exactly the same thing.

The american voice actors aren't that bad (except Yu... damn) but they say real dumb things like "You're the one who's a ghost around here!" and wierd things like that. But the voice actors are good, it's just what they have to say. Oh well it's boring anyway...
