Killing Dracula -- spoilers!

Okay, I was going through the "treatments" in the Legacy DVD extras, and I found this: In the treatment for Dracula II, in 1-20, they have what Cardinal Siqueros says to Uffizi about stopping Dracula for good. In Step Three, it says "Dracula's body must be COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY SILVER (captilization in text). No fragment of tissue, not even the smallest cell, can be spared." But in Legacy, Uffizi merely chops off Dracula's head with the sword, which is CLEARLY not silver (I think in the "conversation with Gary Tunnicliffe" he says Dracula's sword is supposed to be alabaster). Uffizi doesn't even burn it or sprinkle the body with holy water. So, logically, this means Dracula isn't fully dead...right? If anyone can straighten me out, that'd be great.

Interesting point. Drac MIGHT be dead though. Destroying every cell of his body might only have been needed as long as Drac was still refusing God's forgiveness. It's possible that in III Drac was waiting to find a replacement before accepting God's forgiveness and moving on for good.

Yeah. It seems like part of the point of Drac in 3 was that he wanted to see someone who could step into his shoes and replace him. Once Uffizi began to show it was in him, it seems Drac was finally ready to let go. One of his offspring had finally proven itself worthy.

As Ufizzi was a de-frocked priest, he no longer had the power (or authority) to forgive Dracula. Therefore Dracula won't be dead for long!

I agree that Dracula ISN'T dead. Siqueros told Uffizi that only through forgiveness can Dracula find peace. BUT. Uffizi now in the end was no longer a priest, his priestly powers having been removed. He cannot FORGIVE Dracula. Dracula surrendered so that Uffizi could fully embrace his vampiric nature. Dracula still had many vampires loyal to him throughout the castle and any one of these could resurrect Dracula by exposing him to human blood. And when Dracula awakes to life (probably featuring a fourth actor, assuming a sequel), and confronts Uffizi. . . watch out! Uffizi is now a vampire. But, in my opinion isn't Dracula.

"I am bound to this earth. I make it my domain".
