Question on buying this...

I loved The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel and want to get them on DVD. But, I hate getting movies if I don't have the sequels as well, usually when in trilogies, but, if they're more than a trilogy, I'll just rent. Anyway, since this is a trilogy, I would feel bad not buying The Brady Bunch In The White House, even though you guys make it sound bad and I haven't seen it. And, yes, I know it doesn't have the original kids from the first two films, but, I read they did that b/c the kids from the original films were too old, so, they had to get new ones. Anyway, just how bad is this third one, and, should I buy it to complete the trilogy?

I absolutely adored the first two films. They were well-written, well-cast, and walked a tightrope between homage and parody. That said, I was excited that this one was making it to the air... Until it aired. Cole and Long seem uncomfortable the third time around, most of the kids are totally mis-cast, the script is painfully unfunny, and the story is even more absurd than "The Brady Bunch Variety Hour." If memory serves (I only gave this one two chances), I think that the girl who played Jan was good in the role, but the rest of the kids neither looked like the originals, nor bothered to learn character nuances.

If you must see this, I'd recommend renting before buying. Perhaps you'll find my opinion to be utter crap, but as a fellow fan of the first two films, I doubt it.

I think they should have just let the kids from the first films still play the parts, even though they would have aged.

I don't think the Brady Bunch film is as good, with replacing the kids.

The movie is not even close to being in the same league as the first two with the original cast. Definitely need to be a die-hard Brady fan to get into this one, but if so you may get a few laughs out of it. Besides Marcia, Greg and Mr & Mrs. B, the cast is bad in this one. Cindy looks like she's three years old. Best part: "Martians, Martians, Martians!"

I never have seen this yet. But my friends who did see it said it wasn't terrible, but wasn't good either. Rather mediocre. They compared it to Beverly Hills Cop III with a few more laughs.

Yep, that about sums it up.
