I never saw the original series (I don't think it ever showed this side of the Atlantic) but I loved the first two Gary Cole movies and realised they were a send-up of the po-faced, whiter-than-white nature of the original.
Reading the reviews of this I can't decide whether it's faithful to the satirical nature of the previous two - can anyone tell me? I've just ordered it either way.

You made a huge mistake.
I tried watching this... it's absolutely awful.
Clearly made for television and doesn't have a single funny scene, not to mention if you've seen the Brady Bunch Movie and Very Brady Sequel films, you won't be able to stand a moment of this.
It's played as a send-up of the original TV series, in the same tone as the first two movies. The difference is that its a low budget TV movie.
I don't get all the hate for this movie. It wasn't as good as the first two but I thought it was decent.
That doesn't set the bar very high. The first two were awful.
