the village it was filmed in is called newstead. my grandparents live there. i can remember not being let on the park because they where filming

I live in the next village.
It was filmed in Newstead, Nottinghamshire. To be fair, when the film was being filmed, I heard nothing of it. Nobody was really commenting on how a film was being filmed lol.
I don't recognise any of it anyway.
That's quite cool, I'd love to see a film being filmed.
I live in essington where Meera Syal is from. The film is set there, though obviously they changed the name!
I can honestly say, however...I don't think I know anybody who talks like any of those in the film! I'm a black country lass through and through and I certainly don't talk like that!!
i live in the next village in annesley.i remember it being filmed.there wasnt much talk of it and i didnt realise until i tried to goto the post office that they had shut it.the school they show in the film was the same school i went to.the houses in the village they show are on tilford road.the village shop they show on the film was actually a chip shop when god was a lad,but then closed some years sgo.the bbc reopened it just for the film.i noticed the upvc windows in some shots of the film and also on the road you could see where NTL had dug it up and re tarmaced for their cable network.Newstead has also been on ITV`s Peak Practise,so too did annesley farm.
