Is Serenity worth the watch?
I'm almost done binge watching the series.
Is the movie on the same level? (meaning really good for fans of the genre?)
Oskars problem with Eli is not her ambiguous gender, but her ambiguous humanity.share

Yes.
Absolutely.
But I will not say anything specific about Serenity since you have not seen it yet.
It is one of my favorite movies.
Thanks.

Had the chance to see it yet?
That was one great movie. (After one watching...)
I will really need to see it again.

Outstanding.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I watched it again this weekend because of your query.
If Joss Whedon had been sitting next to me the first time I watched it I would have kicked his teeth out of his mouth when Wash got killed.
Edit:
And there was this...

If you enjoyed Firefly (which presumably you did), you'll enjoy Serenity - but, beware, it'll still leave you wanting more...
shareWatched it twice and will see it again...
What great action, comedy, drama...
Why did this not get more attention?
(To be completely honest - I only started watching it because it was free on Crackle this month.)
The only "criticism" I'd make of the movie is that it was too short.
It was a great movie but time constraints meant that a lot had to be left out. Shepherd Book barely got any screen time and Inara's role was substantially cut.
I just wish we could have seen that story play out over a couple of seasons (which I'm sure was the original intention).
I re-watched the movie the other day with the commentary playing.
According to the commentary finding Maranda was going to be the season 2 finale.
Yes, I really enjoyed Serenity.
shareYes, the movie wraps up a lot of stuff from the series and brings it full circle. I actually think the movie is better than the series overall. Plus the production values are noticeably better than the series. The quality of the film stock, lighting, etc. make a big difference.
shareI remember the one episode where they get robbed and end up naked a lot. That makes the show worth it. The movie however was my introduction to the show so I always think of the movie first. And Inara.
shareYes. I think the film is even better than the excellent series.
