Hopeless.

So...is there any hope for such people who undergo such abuse? This film seems to suggest that abuse victims have no hope for recovery. Even "escaping" and being put in a loving foster home doesn't cure the boy's wounds, and he will be permanently damaged.

I hate this film. It delivers a negative message of hopelessness, particularly to those who have undergone abuse. It seems to suggest there's no way out, and they are doomed to feel abuse over and over until they are dead (or maybe not, if their abusers would desecrate their corpses).

As someone who has been abused, I would much rather have a message of hope, or a solution of some kind. Not despair.
