Adam is a total poser

Sorry if this has been discussed on here already.

Did you see Adam's room? It's all decked out with bizarre, horror-like posters. He likes weird, as he said to May. He made that Jack and Jill short video, too. But when May told him about the dog's insides pouring out all over the owner's backyard, he was clearly disturbed by it. And when he and May were sitting to a nice Gatorade and Mac 'n Cheese meal, May told him she had another vet-related story to tell him. When she said that, he pulled the fork w/ macaroni on it out of his mouth because apparently he didn't think he could handle the story if he was eating. Right after that scene, he showed her his Jack and Jill video. I am a very squeamish person. I've passed out to the sight of blood, including in my 8th grade science class. They were showing pictures on the projector of people with STDs, I guess to scare us into not having sex. The very first one was a close up of a woman's eye. I fell out of my chair and a few minutes later, when I came to, my teacher escorted me to the nurse's office in a wheel chair. I have to hum a frickin' song every time I give blood at my doctor's office, and I can't even watch Stand By Me because of the leech in Wil Wheaton's underwear (I still grab at my crotch sometimes when I think about it.) I even had to look away at certain parts of this movie, like when May was pricking her's and Polly's fingers. But May's story about the dog didn't bother me even a little. Yet Adam, who is supposedly into nasty and weird sh*t, got bothered by it. Poser ass bitch.

I don't think that makes him a poser, she was just waaay more weird than he was into, that's all. But I do agree about the stories from her job. I don't know why he was surprised that her story was graphic seeing how she works in an animal hospital.

With the biting and blood licking aside I thought she was friggin' weird with her creepy staring, and the way she was obsessed with his hands. And let's not forget the standing at his door for hours - I am on Adam's side, she was just too too weird.....

I see both perspectives. Adam definitely liked having an edgy image, coming off as this guy who was dark and cool. But when actually faced with someone who was genuinely dark and morbid, he couldn't handle it.

Not that I'd blame him for it. Which is why, yeah, I'm ultimately on his side. He was right to want her out of his life.

The guy we're meeting with can't even grow his own hair?!? COME ON!!!-Gob

I think he's pretty odd himself if he makes a video that hideously weird. I don't think his reaction to her biting him was negative because it was too weird, but because her aggression scared him.

I agree. Adam was a poser. He specifically told May "Disgust me." Then couldn't handle it when she did. He shows her a video that he made of people biting and eating each other, then gets upset when May acts on it and bites him. I can certainly see why May would have had the wrong impression and believed that was what Adam wanted.

If I were Adam, I would have just told May I didn't like to be bit. That would be the end of it, I'm certain. Simple misunderstanding, apologize and move on.

Adam was a poser. I'd date May in a heartbeat.

reply

You can see how May had the wrong impression?! She wanted to bite him hard enough to draw blood, then rub the shyt all over her. So what if you watched The Fly with your girl and she barfed all over your face because she got turned on and thought that was what you wanted too because you showed her? Would you blame yourself for showing her the movie, or would you think she was a crazy a- hole?! He didn't ask her initially if she wanted to see the movie, she invited herself and he ended up asking her because she seemed interested.

I think you are siding with May saying you would love to date a chick like her because you are in the safe confines of reality. If a chick that digs biting you hard and rubbing your blood all over her turns you on the good for you, but for you to say that Adam overreacted and that he is the one with the problem here that is just crazy.

I would have a big problem if I learned over time that a guy I was seeing was more into eating my hands than being with me. Say it out loud, I think you will change your mind.

Some sense in such a strange thread. Horror fans know film isn't reality. May confused film with reality, Adam freaked out.
Adam with his fake knife vs May with her real ones.

reply

Agreed he's totally a poser, into whatever art-school "shocking" crap first year students find weird. He wasn't really weird at all.

For me it's the story he tells where everyone vomits at the fair. I can't.

..... seriously? Wait, let me rephrase that: seriously?

You can be into weird/creepy/horror stuff to varying degrees. Like, I love Halloween, horror movies, haunted houses, etc., but the minute the violence becomes real, that's way more than I want and I'm completely done. Doesn't mean I'm a poser. Adam was the same way. Just because May was weirdness cranked up to infinity (I mean, she's incredibly sympathetic and I loved her character, but really...) and was TOO weird for Adam doesn't mean he doesn't actually like creepy/weird stuff. Just not stuff THAT creepy and/or weird

reply

Whatever people might think of Adam, I would so bang him! And I agree that May was just too weird for him. OK, he made the Jack & Jill film but that story about the dog was real life

reply

I took Adam as the kind of person who likes to be weirder than his sane and casual peers, he prefers to freak a girl out to come off as more interesting.
As seen when May (spoilers) goes to his house to collect his hands, and there's another girl drinking alcohol. Adam and the girl are drunk and tired, and when May is asking for him to touch her, the other girl says it's "just like" his movies he showed her.

Is not a poser is healthy to know the difference between fiction and reality he likes weird and gory movies that doesn't mean he has to like gore and violence in real life, those are two completely different things.

A corpse in real life is pain, a person like myself with family who are going to cry for their lost a corpse in a movie is just a magic trick the problem I sometimes see with the fans of gore is that somehow they become desensitize to real violence and if they not them are considered poser

I'm not a fan of gory movies not because I can't tolerate them just because I find them the most cheap form of horror but if someone enjoys gory movies but can't stand the picture of a real corpse I think that person is not a pussy or a poser just a healthy person.

If you know I chick who dig licking blood just run that chick is crazy like a squirrel trying to sodomize a donkey
