What is KID leaving out?

in the documentary "Easy Riders Raging Bulls" they mention that Evans moved off the Paramount lot and into smaller offices because the actual Mafia was there making porno movies

in KID Evans says they moved to smaller offices to be frugal.....

whats the real story? I dont like porno but seeing one that was made at Paramount would be interesting- no?

in KID Evans mentioned that STallone dropped out of the Cotton Club

on this very board someone said he found an interview that explains WHY Sly dropped out- because Evans showed him a sleazy polaroid of the girl Sly was dating

Evans says McGraw dropped him for McQueen because he spent too much time at work

yeah- whats HER side of the story? whats Evans leaving out?

in "Easy Riders Raging Bulls" they say Evans was a "pimp" for Charles Bludhorne and that his Woodland house was a safe house for Bludhorne and his crew to do whatever...

Near the end of KID Evans sais he was asked to leave his office because " no one at Paramount wanted to work with him" OK, but why? what reason did the folks at paramount have for avoiding him> Surely not just the Cotton Club thing?

Yeah I'm very sceptical about what really happened. I'm half way through reading Easy Riders, Raging Bulls. The book really doesn't do Evans any justice at all. It paints him as someone who was lucky in business as opposed to someone who knew what he was doing. Case in point, if Evans had his way with The Godfather it wouldn't have been the masterpiece that it is. The director and cast would have been completely different. Robert Redford as Michael - wtf?!

In KID, Evans is presented as an astute businessman who knew what he was doing from the get go.

KID is told from Evans' point-of-view so I think a lot of it has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

There's a lot of stuff in Gus Russo's book Supermob about Evans/Paramount/Mob and it deals with some of the issues you raise. McGraw didn't want to do the Getaway because she knew she was horribly attracted to McQueen. Evans pushed her to do it. Then he was pissed when the affair went ahead and happened. Evans wanted McQueen killed and McQueen went to Sid Korshak to try to get it fixed. A lot of the book is about mob issues, but the late 60s/early 70s Hollywood stuff is pretty interesting. I think it's also covered in Peter Bart's book which was called something like "Who Killed Hollywood"
