2003 Concerts at The House of Blues

I recently saw TOFOG at the House of Blues in Chicago, which interested me in buying the Texas DVD. But although it is good as a documentary, I felt that the band, most notably Russell, has come a long way as a performer since then. Or did they just have more time to rehease? Any thoughts?
