Best Argument for the Death Penalty

The Best Argument for the Death Penalty is that it keeps murderers from murdering
again.

Two years for killing Dedra Pettus was a miscarriage of Justice.

The Death Penalty for killing Gloria Jean Leathers,
in front of a police station of all places,
was justified.

You can claim she was retarded or mentally ill or psychotic. You can claim that she should have been institutionalized. You can claim she got religion and renounced being a lesbo.

I claim she was a menace to society.

That's actually a pretty good argument for the death penalty. I'm really in-between on the issue, but I have to say that the fact that she killed 2 people cannot be overlooked.

and exactly what percentage of people who receive the death penalty fit that fact pattern? not to mention the innocent people who have been executed?

Folks who are in prison for life also rarely kill anyone else. Especially if they are sent up for life after the first murder.

I agree, I don't agree with the death penalty at all and there have been tons of people who are innocent or didn't deserve to be executed like Lena Baker for instance, for some reason some people like to compare Baker's case to this one and I think that case was also mentioned in this documentary but that's just crazy. While I have no empathy for sending people to jail for the rest of their lives, I don't want there to be any death penalty, life without parole should be enough.
