This documentary sucks.

It clearly shows how the value of Superman was waning in the mid/late 80's. Could've been interesting and insightful, but instead it was childish, unfunny, and inconsistent. The doc seems to take place in a world where Superman exists. Then Dana Carvey explains the nature of his disguise as Clark Kent! A complete and utter waste of time.

Agreed! I remember seeing this when it aired and thinking "How dare they?"

This could have been something special, seeing that Superman had been an American icon for half a century to that point. The whole thing was nothing more than a farce meant to poke fun at the Man of Steel and how supposedly "old hat" he was becoming. A celebration? Nothing to celebrate here!
