The dinosaurs were actually depicted very "politically correctly" (Nature's creatures deserving our respect). So were the indians and the cave people. Doyle's 1912 book is a whole other cup of tea! The superiority of the westerners (= the English) and of western technology (= weapons) oozes from every page. :) It's a kill-them-all-let-God-sort-it-out kind of a point of view. Very Victorian in my opinion. There was a little bit of that in the movie during the shooting scene when they rescue prof. Summerlee (?) from getting his skull crushed by the caveman, but the movie has been "sanitized" and made much more PC than the book I think.
