I don't know

I dont know - what kind of movie it gonna be, but I am a little bit intrigued. It would be interesting to see viewers comments to this movie.

Well, having seen a few films that featured Arkin, I should only expect to like this film as well. Hopefully, that won't change after the fact.

I'd have a better sense of it by viewing a trailer.

It's available on DVD now.

This is a sequel to one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time that no one has heard of, "A Matter of Principle" (1984) starring Arkin, his wife Barbara Dana, and other family members. Arkin plays a stubborn, crochety, judgmental guy who can't handle people living according to other principles than his own, and the discoveries he's led to make by challenges made by his family, led by his favorite daughter.

I am really looking forward to seeing this, because Flagg Purdy is a hysterical character, and there is so much to be done with him.

How does this compare to "A Matter of Principle," and is that worth seeking out?

I found this mildly entertaining but slightly annoying as well. Alan Arkin makes this film worthwhile, but the script and direction could use some improvement, and there's way too many forced "quirky" characters here. 6/10 stars from me.

I agree, WarpedRecord. I also think that the story is much too modern, compared to the original. The retro/fairytale quality of the first film really added charm, and this second film lacks that charming quality.
