I was in the movie! useless information

I just thought I'd say i was in this movie because I only had a tiny part but it's the only movie i have ever been in so I just thought I would tell people about it!

I was just an extra but it was filmed in hampton court near where i used to live in England, it was really fun and i was a peasent girl running by the horses and waving from the opposite bank of the thames!

I don't really think anyone wanted to know but hey!

I think that is very cool. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm. I have never been in a movie, but I walked right through the middle of the filming of Stripes, in Louisville, Kentucky. Bill Murray was sitting in a taxicab. It was cold and I was trying to get to work. All the lights and the intensity of focus on that one taxicab rather reminded me of a crime scene. Haha.

Oh it's great to know about you being part of the extras! You lucky gal! :-)
Congratulations!! I have seen TKAK, as Tom Fairfax's (Dougray Scott) fan and I must say they were FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm!

No one famous but I will pretend I did!

It was so cold that's what I remember most lol!

Luv ya!

reply

LOL ! But at least you have something to share, don't you? :-) Wonderful experience to take part of this awesome film...

Be Happy, gal!
Love you too.

Wauw, that is great. I would 'kill' to be even part of a movie, it doesn't even has to be a 'role', I would serve coffee, if i could only be part of something like making a movie, just a pity you didn't get to meet Tim Roth, he's such a great actor.
I was pleasently suprised though that noone wrote a 'jealous' reply, 'cause that usely happens, when someone is in a movie, or is related to someone famous. Had a big discussion on the Selena movie's message board, because some girl found out she was related to her. You should have seen the nasty reply's she got, glad to see not everyone on this board is like that, so crongratualations girl!! You are a killa chick, hope you didn't freeze your butt off though, lol.......

My daughter was an extra in this film. She was supposed to be a noblewoman but had to agree to be a puritan. Interestingly, she found that the puritans were treated very differently than the well-dressed extras.
Another curious fact is that she is in most scenes where puritans forgather, making it appear that she is in more than one place in the hall.
She told us that filming took ages because certain of the principal actors 'fluffed' their lines repeatedly.
I only enjoyed this film because she was in it as an extra. I still have a small photo of her in full costume, her lovely red hair secreted beneath a tall, black hat.
The film desrved more success and is in no way worse that some of the horrors we suffer, e.g.anything with Mel Gibson in it.

thanks for sharing that is really cool

They filmed parts near where i grew up (wilton house) in south england and my dad was an extra in a few scenes... i was gutted to hear him say that tim roth was one of the rudest men he had the misfortune to share air with...

sorry if this is a bad point... i love some of tim roth's work - namely four rooms and reservoir dogs but i am sorry folks, i thought this film sucked.

i am not a film scholar and so maybe have missed what makes this film good - don't get me wrong i love movies but i like what i like... this film left me yawning.

your welcome!

what did you think of TO KILL A KING?

i hate micheal madsen. he always plays the same part.

"what do you think of him?"
"i think he's a *beep* peasant!"

see you at the movies baby...

Hey - thats cool. I recently took part in an History Channel shoot for a new documentary series on the American Revolution. I was among a group of "extras," although each of us played several roles - each time wearing different wardrobe.

By the way - did you get to see Olivia Williams when you were on set?

reply

No I don't think I got to see anyone famous I was about 13 at the time and I didn't even know anything about the movie but I think I saw either Dougary Scott or Tim Roth from far away on a horse it was trotting really well but it was frothing at the mouth and didn't look happy!

To the poster whose Dad was slighted by Tim Roth on the set of this...it's a shame he felt that way. I've met Roth a few times socially. He's a very private person, and I think maybe a little shy, which is easy to mistake for rudeness. When you engage him and draw him out, it's like watching an engine start up: he becomes enthusiastic, and is open to sharing anecdotes.

Maybe he was getting into character (I don't know if he's "Method" or not, but that would certainly be one explanation!). Anyway, it's a shame he and your dad didn't get a chance to "click".

Cool beans!
I've only been an extra in historical documentaries. Not as "glamourous", lol, as being in a true Hollywood film.

That's awesome. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've seen clips from it and thought I recognized Hampton Court (visited there last year when I was studying in London - I'm American). I'll look for you if I ever watch it!

That was you? I'm sorry, but your performance ruined the entire movie for me. I hope you're happy.
