'Duty of Care' episode advocates despotism

In a conversation in the Season 1 episode, "Duty of Care", Judge John Reed agrees early on that if the law and the rules do not warrant a conviction of a corporate director of manslaughter in the name of social justice, it is then the judge's duty to do so, i.e. to do whatever it takes to get the conviction anyway. This is an appalling Stalinist-Marxist message, the likes of which we see advocated by Democrats here in the States.
