IYH:Lumber Jacks Review

This is my first time seeing this ppv so this is going to be based on first impressions. Live from Nashville it's the second In Your House ppv. Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler (wearing a crown/cowboy hat combo) are the commentators.


Match #1

Singles Match

The 1-2-3 Kid Vs The Roadie


Future Dx members opening the show. Roadie and Jarrett put The Kid out of action with a neck injury for a few weeks, Kid jumps Roadie outside then goes into his kicks combo repetoire. Roadie goes outside Kid gets cheered. Kid charges Roadie and gets caught with a powerslam. Action outside and Roadie controls this portion of the match. Roadie picks up Kid in an atomic drop position and crotches him on the post. Roadie goes up and misses a big splash, which was pretty funny. Kid starts to rally and he hits a frogsplash off the top rope and gets a 2 1/2 count. Kid goes for a huricinrana but Roadie sitout powerbombs him and almost gets 3. Roadie sends Kid into the corner, charges and hits his shoulder on the post. Roadie and Kid fight on the top rope and Roadie super piledrivers The Kid and pins him at 7:31. Good opener, ill go 2 1/2 stars.

Tag Team Match

Razor Ramon and Savio Vega Vs King Mabel and Sir Mo


This is a carry over from the KOTR. Mabel the ****iest KOTR ever beat Savio in the main event then further inured Razor's ribs postmatch. Before the match starts Razor pulls off his bandages and throws them at Mabel, singaling they are healed I guess. Razor and Mo start with Razor knocking Sir Momo all around. Savio in and he gives Momo more of the same. Mabel in and the heels timing is off. Savio almost kicks his head off but Mabel takes control with his weight. Mabel with a quite impressive enzuiguri on Savio. Mabel and Mo beat on Savio for a few minutes then Mabel squashes him but somehow Savio kicks out at 2. Mo goes up top for a moonsault and almost falls off in the process, he misses the sloppy moonsault then Razor tags in for the first time in a 7 minutes and kicks Mo's ass. Razor hits the super belly to back suplex then signals for the razors edge. Mo stops him and slams Razor then tags Mabel who goes up top but takes too long and gets slammed off the top rope, Razor pins him for another 2 count. Everything breaks down, Mo and Savio fight outside while Mabel avalanches Razor in the corner that stuns Ramon then Mabel finishes it with a belly to belly suplex and a pin at 9:54. 2 stars.



Jeff Jarrett debutes his new song which I fast foward thru because everybody knows how that went down.


Match #3

Singals Match

Bam Bam Bigelow Vs Henry Godwin


Bigelow starts quick with a big belly to back suplex then knocks the hog porker outside. Henry takes over and puts on a reverse chinlock. Bigelow catches HOG with a crossbody and a 2 count. Henry drops him and then makes like he's going for the slop bucket. Godwin slams Bigelow then drops an elbow for another 2 count. Henry shoots Bigelow into the corner and Bammer comes out with a clothesline. Bigelow up top but misses the diving headbutt. Henry goes up top and misses a sloppy whatever the hell that was and Bigelow rolls him up for the victory at 5:30. Meh 1 1/2 star.


Match #4

Intercontinental Title Match

Jeff Jarrett w The Roadie Vs Shawn Michaels


Read a couple reviews on this one over the years. They all say it's the best one of the ppv. It's a good one so far. Both guys going through counters and Shawn is winning most of them. Jarrett does alot of stalling, going outside and almost getting counted out a couple of times. Roadie tries interfering and gets decked by Shawn then Jarrett tries a sneak attack and gets backdropped outside. Jarrett catches Michaels then goes to work. Jarrett uses an abdominal stretch with help from Roadie but the ref catches them in the act and breaks it. Jarrett shoots Michaels into the corner who does a nasty Flair flip and out of the ring. Roadie constantly getting in shots when the ref isn't looking. Jarrett goes up top and hits a flying bodypress but Michaels rolls through for a 2 count. A handful of close 3 counts follows then Jarrett stops it with a standing dropkick. Jarrett with a sleeper. Shawn breaks it up with a belly to back suplex. Both guys back up and Shawn hits a flying clothesline then kipups within a fraction of a second after landing. Shawn up top and a double axe handle and another 2 count. Shawn goes up top and hits a flying elbow but a sloppy cover lets Jarrett get the shoudler up. Michaels crotches Jarrett around the steel post. Shawn climbs up again but Roadie shakes the ropes and Shawn crotches. Jarrett superplexes Shawn off then goes for the figure four. Shawn pushes him off and Jarrett collides with the ref. Shawn goes for the superkick but Roadie chopblocks him, Roadie working overtime tonight. In an idiotic moment the Roadie while not looking grabs Jarrett's leg on a rope run thinking it was Michaels then while Jarrett stops to argue with him Shawn pops Jarrett with the superkick and pins him at 19:30. New and 3 time IC champ Shawn Michaels!!! Best match of the night. 3 stars.


Backstage Hayes says Jarrett and Roadie are having a falling out, somebody got into the goofballs.


Match #5

Tag Team Title Match

Yokozuna And Owen Hart w Jim Cornette Vs The Allied Powers


Lex and Yoko start off and Yoko overpowers Luger early on. Lex knocks down Yoko who sits on Owens foot accidently Haw haw!!! Owen and Yoko get into a shoving match but Cornette calms them down. Owen slaps Luger and runs like a heel worthy of the Tennesse region. SWEET JESUS!!! Bulldog just backdropped Owen and Hart almost came straight down on his head!!! Instead he took a pretty rough fall on the shoulder. Bulldog messes up giving Owen time to tag Yoko. The heels beat up Davyboy for a little while then Lex gets the tag and cleans house. Powers double belly to back suplex Yoko then Lex goes for the cover but Owen comes off the top rope with a forearm to break it up. He goes after Bulldog while Yoko drops the big turkey leg of death and gets the pin at 10:30. Not bad 2 1/2 stars.


Match #6

World Heavyweight Championship Lumberjack Match

Diesel Vs Psycho Sid w Ted Dibiasie


The blowoff to this feud. Both guys got the opportunity to pick 15 lumberjacks to put around ringside. Diesel immediatley lays into Sid who keeps falling out side where the faces throw him back in. Sid goes out on his side to stall. Sid gets back in and pulls Diesel out to the heels side and they lay the boots to him. The faces run over and Shawn jumps on everybody and it's a wrestlecrap streetfight!!! Sid beats on Diesel for about 4 minutes straight then Diesel starts to rally and while he has Sid down HE VAULTS OVER THE TOP ROPE ONTO THE HEELS AT RINGSIDE!!!! Alright I gotta give 1/2 star bonus just for that move from Diesel. Mabel pulls Diesel out and Mo tries posting him but goes to the steel himself. Diesel gets knocked down and Mabel drops the leg on him. Back inside Sid hits the powerbomb which he used to previously injure Diesels elbow. Diesel kicks out and Sid tries another one but gets backdropped. Sid loses it and goes out to attack the face lumberjacks and Shawn gets him with an axe handle off the top rope. Diesel goes for a jackknife but IRS interferes then Diesel hits Sid with a big boot and pins him at 10:06??? Not a good match to close a ppv with. Im going 2 stars.



Overall Opinion: Not a bad IYH, it was loaded with matches and they were decent to good.


Final Score: Im gonna give it a 3.7 on a scale of 1.0 to 10.0
