Is this concert any better than the Chicago Vertigo one?

That's personal taste of course, but I definitely like U2@Boston better than U2@Chicago. Better setlist, better music. And, despite Hamish Hamilton's lets-put-10-different-camera-views-in-one-second style, it's quite well filmed at some points. The black-and-white filming of New York is absolutely fantastic.

Far better songs,(Gone, Walk on, Kite, New York). Bono and the boys were closer to the audience in Boston and there was more of a fun atmosphere in the Boston 2001 DVD too!
