The birds sitting on the deck of the ship

Take a close look. The footage is played backwards.

The ducks land on the deck, and then apparantley settle down and take a bit of a nap on the ship.

If you watch the footage closely, you'll see that the footage has been played backwards. They sorta "faked" the birds sitting on the deck. Yes they were sitting on the deck, but when it was originially shot, the birds were getting UP from their rest, and not sitting down to it. Play the segment back in reverse and you'll see how it's just footage of the birds, sitting on the grills, then getting up. Simple but tricky bit of editing.

The most obvious one and the one that tipped me off is when the one bird tucked it's head under it's wing. It happens to quickly. He puts his head under his wing almost instantly and is immediately still. Playing it back in reverse you can see how the bird is awakened and pulls its head out from under it's wing. After viewing it a couple times you'll see how awkward it really looks.

Good documentary, but there is a fair amount of camera trickery when you watch it closely. I bet more than %70 of the footage was setup. Most of the footage is pretty astounding though, and I like the lack of narration. Just let the visuals speak for themsselves.
