Why no mention of Dario Argento?

They go so far as to interview Dario Argento's former girlfriend & frequent star, Daria Nicolodi, for this documentary, but not one word about Bava's influence on Argento? What's that about?

Yeah, I found that strange too. Dario wasn't mentioned once, and he's one of the directors Mario Bava most clearly influenced. In many ways Bava passed the torch of Italian horror onto Argento, so they really should have at least given him a mention. Other than that annoyance, this was a great documentary. It was also good to see the reclusive Daria Nicolodi in a rare public appearance, albeit hidden behind those giant black sunglasses.

I agree. The clips from 'Black Sabbath' featuring the corpse claiming revenge on the woman who stole her ring has been completely ripped off by Argento. Look at 'Suspiria': the dead girl at the end, and all the harsh primary lighting from blues to reds ...Bava did this decades before Dario.

I remember this documentary was part of a series about the masters of horror, Dario Argento had his own documentary (and some of the interviewed were the same).
Maybe the producers wanted to concentrated on Bava...
