No it's Hwasango. Like I said in a previous topic. The character with the O and the 2 lines on top ALWAYS make a H sound. The 2 vowels on the bottom and the right of that make the "o-ah" sound. Like you said, it's almost "Hu-ah" which simply becomes "Hwa". If you wanted "Wasango" you would have a totally different consonent in the first letter. There would be no 2 lines on top of the first consonent. It would simply look like an o
We may just have to give up on this one. There are too many idiots out there who think that English people will be frightened by a 'hwa' sound. It's just a fast "huh-wah."
Out of curiosity, do you know why do we say "Lee" instead of "Ee"? There must be millions of Koreans with "Ee" in their names, but it's always translated as Lee.
-- "What's that noise?" "That's a fridge going over a speed hump."
lol wow. You have no evidence to back up that claim. Simply because someone agrees with me does not mean they are me. That means that person knows I am right and agrees with me.
This is stupid. The pronunciation should come from however it's pronounced in Korean. If you are an English speaker and pronounce the same word differently than Korean speakers, then you're saying it wrong. As for spelling, that depends on what system for transliteration you use.
The person that started this message board spelled it: "Wa-San-Goal". I have to admit, that's way off the mark. Korean speakers would pronounce the title of the movie with an "H" sound in the beginning, so English speakers should be saying and spelling the same thing. They shouldn't change the spelling just because it's easier to pronounce. Not only that, why is there an "L" at the end? When Koreans pronounce the title of the movie, there is no "L" sound.
The person that started this message board also claimed that HWA is hu-wa. That's totally wrong. HWA is one syllable. hu-wa is two syllables.
I understand that the Korean surname "ee" is spelled and pronounced "Lee" in most cases, but that's totally up to the bearer of the name. But you need to understand that the original and correct pronunciation is "ee"
In conclusion, there should be no such thing as an English pronunciation of any language. But they do it anyways because it's easier for them.
-Why do you even care? The fact that you are so pissed off just because I'm replying a few months late shows me that you have no life. I'm not even mad that you posted this. I'm just laughing at you right now.
-Stop writing in incomplete sentences. Every single one of your sentences does't make sense. Do you know how to speak English? Or even write in English? What does "boring to die" even mean? Don't you mean "bored to death?"
-I can't even begin to comprehend why you would call me a spammer. Do you even know what spam is?
-The fact is: you're the one that keeps posting. If your definition of "stupid" is someone that keeps posting, then you are the stupidest idiot in the world, PERIOD.
