the american version is subtitled rightshare
also where can i buy the original version because from what i'm hearing it alot better and all i get is the one with the rappersshare
I guess you know the dvd is out now with both versions on it. I can't really decide which one I like better.share
the kroean version is on the backside of the american mtv rapper versionshare
so the dvd with both versions. does that mean that the korean version is the FULL version 120 min long?share
I noticed that myself! The version I bought was a brand new DVD, norwegian region 2. It was actually labelled as a "rental" version, but I don't care since I paid the equal to 4$ for it, and it got 5.1 DTS original sound AND the 124 minutes originally intended.
What's up with an american version being almost half the length? Seriously?!
I laugh in the face of danger. Then I hide until it goes away
American version subtitled in english but some are different...
like the film title. and some cast...
and some words in the film is wrong.
The MTV version was like watching a whole different movie. It was funny and creative. I wouldn't mind seeing them cut up some more foreign movies. But the original will always be my favorite.share
Hello, I just purchased my version here in Australia it has both the American version and Korean version, the American version is 80 minutes and the korean version is 120 minutes.
Which version should I watch first? And what is the difference between the two versions? Also Im curious how could they cut 40 minutes of the film for the American version?
I dont know what they cut out but in my opinion the Original is way better. The dubbing by rappers(of all people) really annoys me. Especially with Lil'Jon throwing in his signature "Yeeeeah!" callings when Jiang Ryang goes berserk.
For anyone interested in the movie, I highly recommend watching the original, which I liked a lot.
I actually think the movie benefits from being cut. Normally i'd object to this type of thing, but the movie was too long and too boring. And yes, the hip hop dubbing sucks!share
The American MTV version made the movie seem goofy. American Hip-hop artists should not dub an Asian film...ever...share
Avoid the MTV version at all costs. It looks like another cheap episode of that cheesey show called "Kung-Faux". The dialogues are changed, the plot was shamelessly altered. 40 min were cut and some scenes were edited in a very different way.
But the worst thing are the voice overs, they are pure CRAP!
Only the late Pat Morita saves the show. The rest of the cast sucks big time. Well at least Mya has a beautiful voice.
I suppose that everything was done with the consent of director Tae-gyun Kim. If so: Shame on him! for allowing MTV to destroy his movie. If it wasn't done with his consent (unlikely but I am not sure): Shame on MTV!
Korean version 7/10
MTV version 3/10
