You forgot the most romantic film I know, also starring the exquisite Audrey Tatou: "A Very Long Engagement",(Un Long Dimanche de Fiancialles) ..not just a great romance, but one of the great films in any genre of the last 20 years.
...and while we're on the subject of French films, we shouldn't forget one of the great screen romances, "The Children of Paradise", ("les Enfants du Paradis").

How on Earth is "Dirty Pretty Things" romantic? Senay and Okwe loved eachother yes, but there was nothing romantic in this whole movie! Are you thinking of when Senay had to blow the Asian guy? or when Señor Juan screwed her? ...'cause neither of those were very romantic either, LOL!
Great movie though.
Dirty Pretty Things isn't a romantic movie, but has elements from that genre. Senay and Okwe's relationship is beautiful because of its subtlety and unspoken words. They never consumate their passion, that's why their parting at the airport is so powerful: you see these two people that loved each separating forever.
This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.
I don't think a relationship has to be consummated to be romantic ... in fact, the less it is the more romance you have really.

My Brilliant Career
GWTW ... one of the all-time most romantic movies ever, though not exactly a feel-good
Ghost
The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe (French)
What about The Crying Game?
And of course there were those 80's-+ comedies, like When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail. And a lot of other less notable imo Julia Roberts movies. Not my cuppa but girls were crazy about all these at the time.
