Why remove the heart (spoiler)?

Unless I missed it, can anyone tell me why they removed the heart from the victim who died? Okwu tells his friend he'd found out why the heart was in the toilet, but then he talks about how they're selling kidneys. It makes no sense to remove it, only to ultimately attempt to flush it whole. And wouldn't it be obvious that there was no chance that it could be flushed without clogging the toilet?
