I'm with critterdude... I can't even REMEMBER the last time I watched a movie this bad.
Of course folks have different likes and dislikes, but being a fan of almost every type of film, I can usually see what others appreciated even if I don't like it myself.
With this pile of steaming digital video all I could hope is that a comment here might spare someone else a loss of 30 minutes in their life that they'll never get back. (And I say 30 minutes because I have no doubt that anyone over the age of 12 that isn't a friend of the film makers will do just what critterdude did and shut it off by then)
If you're hoping for another Kung Pow, or Shaolin Soccer... seek anywhere else but here.
I am actually smoing pot at the time of watching this movie and while writing this and IMO this movie was retarded and not funny. I cant believe users have rated this a 7.5 on IMDB.
I just watched this, and thought it a terrible movie and not even one laugh throughout. After the high rating on IMDB I was expecting something much better.

you're right, it's not like those movies.
It's more of a romantic comedy with shtck & light action. I think people who watch it expecting another Kung Pow are feeling ripped off. Just because it's not what you expected doesn't make it crap.
I didn't want to watch it at all based on the title, but I really enjoyed this film. I can see how; if you're someone who doesn't really pay attention to the film you're watching, you would not understand the humor.
My husband was pissed off too. My kids and I loved it.
in 3 months its IMDB rating dropped from 7.7 to 5.1 - now how did that happen?
i tried watching this flick a while ago and couldn't make myself sit through it. the acting was just so bad, and the campy and unsophisticated attempts at humor completely miss the mark. i like all types of films, including a lot of different types of comedy, but this film simply sucked.
i'm not an art culture elitist either. i like lots of funny tv shows (such as: aqua teen hunger force, american dad, metalocalypse, futurama, south park, etc.) some of which are pretty silly/ridiculous in their offbeat brand of humor. i also enjoy slightly more sophisticated shows with subtler wry/black humor like arrested development, or humor that is a little more intelligent such as futurama. in general, i appreciate a little bit of everything.
i understand that this is an indie film, and i enjoy lots of indie films, but everything from the writing to the cast is just horrible. i was curious about this film initially because it had such a high rating on IMDB, but now i suspect that the votes may have been rigged by the people who produced it, and many of the comments may be shameless astroturfing for a poorly made film.
to the makers of the film: viral advertising only works if you actually have a product that people like and are willing to help you gain exposure. astroturfing for a failed film is not only pathetic but undermines your own integrity as an artist.

i gave my honest criticism of the film--something that any serious artist should expect when they put out something for the public. i also described the types of comedies that i enjoy and why i didn't enjoy this particular film--to qualify my opinion. i didn't attack people who liked the film. i just didn't think it was very well done and stated my observations of the skewed rating it initially received.
telling film makers not to astroturf for a failed film (as can be seen by most comments on it) isn't "venom," it's expressing the shared opinions of the online community. when film makers try to bolster their IMDB rating with fake votes or astroturf in the forums it affects the integrity of IMDB. the quality of this site is based on the quality of its users and the feedback they give on the site. the ratings have no meaning if film makers make a habit out of skewing the votes, and the reviews/forums lose their integrity when filmmakers themselves astroturf or hire people to do it for them.
but looking at your insipid comments you obviously don't care for contributing t o the quality of the site through discussion or otherwise. calling people "lamers" on an internet forum is about as productive as getting in a pushing match on the playground. come back when you're out of the 2nd grade. share

and, actually, i'm an artist, and i AM following my dreams--i'm going to college and majoring in computer science. i also work as a graphic designer and web developer at an indie record label, and i love my job. though i'm majoring in computer science, i'm taking art classes in school to further my career as a graphic designer because i like being able to express myself artistically through it.
if i didn't have courage to follow my dreams, i wouldn't be doing what i'm doing today. i got to where i am today by working hard to achieve my goals, regardless of where the money was at and what odds were against me. obviously the makers of this film care more about money than art or entertainment, otherwise they wouldn't be paying people to astroturf and rigging the votes. by doing these things they've shown that they have no artistic integrity. perhaps the film would have turned out better if they spent more effort/resources on producing a good film rather than underhanded marketing and methods of promoting the film.

Obviosly it went to file share 3 months ago and then got attaxcked by a few lamers who ganged up on it.look at the IMDB stats: 591 votes. obviously there had been votes before and they've gradually trickled in, but this is definitely not a popular film so it's easy to skew the votes when there are perhaps only 200-300 votes. it's still relatively easy to skew the votes now compared to other films with like 40-50,000 votes. and these "lamers" you speak of are just people who don't like the film and voted accordingly. just because you dislike a film and reflect that in your vote doesn't mean you're "ganging up" on it. this isn't elementary art class where everyone has to pretend to like a crappy project.

i don't watch a lot of indie comedies, but a few indie films off the top of my head that i've enjoyed and actually found to be funny include:
dr strangelove or: how i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb, clerks, mallrats, napoleon dynamite, thank you for smoking, i heart huckabees, ali g in da house, the rules of attraction, and harold & kumar go to white castle
other indie films that i've enjoyed and are funny but aren't comedies include: slc punk, spun, trainspotting, drugstore cowboy, a scanner darkly, and ichi the killer
this film tries to be a mainstream comedy along the lines of will farrel movies but falls short. it doesn't have the charm and candidness of most indie films, it also lacks the dry wit or black comedy that i especially like of indie comedies. it's not particularly intelligent and the writing is mediocre, so it really relies heavily on charisma and timing of the actors. the performance and deliveries just weren't funny.
