Georginia!!! watch section 4 *spoilers*

I love Georginia and Mr. Breghert, they were the only couple I wanted to see happy in this whole thing. Breghert is freaking adorable (sorry, wouldn't usually use the word adorable for a man like Jim Carter but Breghert is adorable) Then comes volume 4 and Georginia lets me down.

After steeling herself to the idea of losing her family and friends, she freaks out because she might have to spend a year living in the same home as his children from his previous wife? Really? Even if it was just a breakdown because he was pushing a bit I don't get it. WTH?

Fine go back to your overbearing father and weird brother, and leave behind the rare combination of a wealthy man who loves you, wants to provide for you, and is
willing to set you up in a completely separate household in less than a years time.

Good luck being an old maid, since that seems to be your future. In the first volume, she couldn't get a dance partner and we never see another vying for her attention. Dad and brother never steer her to another option.

Maybe I'm missing something or maybe I love Jim Carter too much, but I really didn't see this coming.

Might have to read the book to see if there is more foreshadowing of the breakup.

At least Mr. Broune and Mrs Carburry got together. I'll have to make due with that.

I too was surprised that Georginia freaked out like that. I was thinking she was one of the "good guys" in the story. But, in the end, what I liked most about the series was complexity of the characters.

Although suprising, I felt Georginia change of heart was totally believable. Like Mr. Breghert - we wanted to see the good in her. But, from the very beginning it was apparent she was a materialistic snob.

It was pretty obvious she was marrying him for his money, nothing else. So why be surprised when she puts her selfishness on display like that?

There is a little more to it. Georgina was upset living with her father in the country and not being able to live in London during the season. In the end her offer for marriage would have her ending up living with an old man in the country and not in London. It seems living in London was important to her. I do agree, however, that she was also shallow and prejudiced. Too bad she did not meet up with the older Carbury cousin.

I think her frantic need to be in London during the season was to find a husband. After marriage she would be able to visit London fairly often.

The actress was wonderful in this role.
