The only thing that bothers me about the spin-off.........

is the synopsis. Raven Baxter is damn near my age at the start of the show (the character was 14 in season one)and she's a divorced single mother of two preteens? That doesn't even make sense to the timeline because it was revealed that her daughter will be starting junior high (which makes her 12) and it would take place in 2017 when the show airs. Now, if that's the case, then Raven would've had her daughter at least somewhere around season three of TSR. I swear, non-continuity is a pain in the butt.

I came on here exactly to say that. She is 30 years old. Statistically speaking the average 30 year old millennial is waiting to have children. Not, have children who are 11 or 12. Meaning she had the child at 18 or 19? Teen mom? On our math, but on TSR tvland math her character would have been 15 or 16. Really, did Devon knock her up after prom and had to put a ring on it. Why can't she just be a 30 year old woman with a career. Why does she have to be a mom? It messes it up for me. I get that they want it to be family focus, but not everyone can do a Boy Meets World spinnoff and expect it to work.

Edit: I watched a few episodes of Fuller House and it sounds like the same show, except DJ's character is widowed instead of divorced and she gets help from her sister and bff to raise her kids, Raven is going to get help with Chelsea and idk Eddie, Orlando Brown seems like the black version of Shia Labouf recently, so I pretty sure he is out of the picture.

Um, I read that her daughter will be starting middle school, not junior high so that will make her ten. Where did you read about her beginning junior high?

The timeline of That's So Raven is from 2001 or 2002 to 2005 or 2006. So we're looking at an eleven year gap so it makes sense if her daughter was a ten year old.....

Uh middle school IS junior high. Raven herself said that the daughter would start 7th grade at age 12.

Um, I was familiar with Junior High being 7th and 8th grade, not including 5th and 6th grade dear. Middle school is typically 5th to 8th grade. Sue me. And Raven said that? Where's the source for me to be sure? I read one saying the daughter attending middle school:

Like I said, it makes sense if Nia is attending 5th grade and at age TEN rather than twelve so the timeline isn't jacked up.

Junior high is sixth-eight.

I actually agree. They should have at least made the kids 7 or younger

reply

I agree! In reality, shouldn't Ravens kids be under 5?
