The TV series is currently being subtitled and released on Emule, the TV series is much better than the movie which is incoherant at best.
Unfortunantly, only episodes one and two (out of thirteen) have been released with English subtitles and it's tough finding Polish speakers to help translate. So far there are translations of Episodes one, two, eight and nine. If anyone is interested message me :)

To anyone interested: The movie version is actually just various scenes from the TV series assembled together and don't make much sense. This is because the director and the writer who adapted the books had a quarrel about how much of original story should there be, and finally the movie didn't have ANY real story. Bad shame. The series however, while it still spoils a great story (the scenario writer's vision is simply outrageous in places), at least makes sense and is quite well made, and a FEW of the episodes which REALLY follow the books, are kindof excellent.
shareAnd, yeah I forgot... I CAN help with translations, but frankly I don't see too much sense in making this thing known. It's better to wait till all the books are translated and if they're popular, someone may do to them what Jacson did with LOTR (or perhaps even better, less money but more truth to the story). The good things in the series/movie are:
- the views (Poland still has a few of them)
- acting of SOME people, e.g. Żebrowski and Dymna
- the music, it was the last work of art by famed Polish rockman and composer Grzegorz Ciechowski, who died in dec 2001 and got some awards for this album posthumously
About the rest I can't say many good things
