Proper studio with ton of money...

... could've made this into something even more grandieu than LOTR. I have not read Sapkowski's books in polish but I have them all in russian. I, myself, am a old fantasy fiction fan, but after Wiedzmin/Witcher saga I could not find any other book that I could have liked. Polish made movie was a disaster and even tho I am Lithuanian I feel like I was

BETRAYED.

Series was even worse. Nothing was left from the original trully EPIC atmosphere that Sapwkowski has created. It feel like a cheap amateur studio made product for video rental market. Wiezdmin is a part of polish cultural heritage.

Wiedzmin is to LOTR, like LOTR is to Harry Potter. It's grim, dark, romantic, dramatic, heroic, supernatural, magic. Like all those. But only Wiedzmin delivers something more - it's alive, REALY believable and it's tragic. It's adult. It's for grownups.

Series that Heritage studios have made are watchable as much as cheap porn on Sunday mess in Catholic church.

I've only been introduced to The Witcher series as a result of the PC game (being an American and all) and having played the game once, and working on the second run through with the Extended Edition and may soon start to read The Last Wish (bought it a month ago), I would love to see a good big screen adaptation.

So long as Uwe Boll does not even consider such a project.

You should read the books - nothing compares to Wiedzmin's world in terms of fantasy/adventure.

Agreed. "The Last Wish" was excellent, and I will start reading "Blood of Elves" in a few days. As I am also an American and those are the only two books about The Witcher that I can find in english. The PC game was also excellent, and I'm not a big fan of RPG's. Unfortunately the film was pretty poor, and for the film to even make any sense you really must read "The Last Wish." Otherwise the film will be completely incoherent to those who haven't read the book. Heck, there are parts of the film that I still don't understand. The book(s) and game get a perfect 10. The film... doesn't.

Also like The Witcher1/2 videogames.

I would love to see Takashi Miike, Germero Teltoro or Peter Jackson to do a movie of The Witcher (:
