I don't know. It's so hard to decide which one I like better.
It seems pretty obvious to me why Shu would be cast as the older sister, as the angular shape of her chin make her look more like her age in the film, which is her actual age. Zhao's rounder face just looks girlish, and makes it easier to make her look like she is about 18-19. Her hair style also makes her look several years younger than Shu, although they're both the same age.
