Movies shot in Hawaii?!?! Bring them on!

It could be good to great, but my GOSH, HAWAII! Love it there! From Blue Crush to The Descendants, among others, any movie shot in Hawaii can't be that bad!

Apparently you never saw Elvis's "Blue Hawaii".

Greetings! Parts of it :). But it's the scenery that I'm after :).

Aw, come on man. The Colonel was responsible for all that; Elvis had no idea what was going on except that he got to spend a few months in Hawaii with some beautiful ladies who never said, "No" to 'The King'.

It was all kitsch and tongue-in-cheek fun. No one went to an Elvis film to see the plot or the story...watch Love Me Tender, where even back then the people who did not like him did like the music.

Elvis was about music; the Colonel was about making $$.

Elvis was a phenomenon, and one heck of a rock 'n' roll artist. All the rest is just noise...

Soul Surfer actually feels somewhat similar to this movie and the Wikipedia articles get the two final competitions confused. I liked Blue Crush better and felt Kate Bosworth was a better actress (and there is something very cute and exotic about her eyes having different colors_)

Aloha wasn't as bad as some critics say. I think it featured some good scenery and felt very authentic.

Also, I did like Pearl Harbor which was mostly filmed on location in Honolulu including on the actual military base itself.

The Jurassic Park movies were all filmed in Hawaii. The state also stands in for a lot of other Pacific islands in WW2 movies like Windtalkers and I believe Flags of Our Fathers.

I thought that Soul Surfer was similar to Blue Crush too. But Blue Crush was better. Besides being the original, it was also less stressful and more fun. Soul Surfer definitely had its place though being based on a true story.
