Chan vs. Yen extended fight on the DVD

Has anyone watched that on the DVD? I'm now officially pissed off. The fight between Jackie and Donnie,as originally choreographed and shot, was EPIC! It was everything I could have hoped for. But it was butchered in the final film, "for time." WTF? Seriously, go watch it. I hope the Americans behind THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM don't trim the fights, but let them play out. Americans who go to martial arts movies CAN HANDLE EXTENDED FIGHT SCENES. Our attention spans don't wane! Do you hear me BRETT $&#@% RATNER? If we see a movie with Jackie Chan or Jet Li, we want some action. Anything aside from the fights, while important, is secondary. I swear, it's like if the producers of a concert movie had said, "Well, we don't want to give the audience TOO much music." Aarrgh! I hate the suits who don't understand their market.

yeah, you can never count on an american movie with action stars to do them justice. that fight was awesome, i mustuve watched the extended fight 10x in a row and marveled at its choreography. yen and chan are awesome at choreography. just watch yen's flash point which comes out on R1 dvd the 22nd of april.

I deeply agree with you mate. The uncut Jackie-Donnie fight is much better. So is the library fight!

You're right in everything what you've said. These producers just don't get it. I think even an average moviegoer wouldn't complain for longer fight scenes, but these rednecks make Americans look stupid.

Did the extended fight scenes come out anywhere in better quality than the VHS-level quality we can see on the DVDs? I heard the Blu-ray version has the extras with the same SD resolution, so that's not an upgrade.
