Completely butchered and borderline unwatchable on cable tv...

Caught about half of it a while back on cable.

Good lord, they absolutely butchered this film! It was borderline unwatchable as someone who has seen the regular, unedited version numerous times.

I know they usually have to trim movies to fit the time-slots, but it was so excessively edited, I could barely see the point in airing the film. There were entire scenes and sub-plots removed (the entire book sub-plot had no pay-off because the resoltion was trimmed out, the entire prologned sequence at the hotel including the break-up/make-up and pillow-fight was gone, etc.) and most of the action was cut down dramatically.

How does this sort of thing happen? Why bother showing a film if so much is going to be trimmed, and not even for content, but just to make it shorter?

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

Yep! Will never watch any movies in cable for that simple reason!
