For about an hour I thought this was on for been Lynne Ramsey's Best Film
But sadly I thought the last half hour lost me, once Morvern and Lanna hit the countryside of Spain and whole meeting up with the publishers. It just dragged for me from that moment on. Shame as I thought this was given You Were Never Really Here a run for Ramsey's best film for me.
Samantha Morten in the late 90's/early 00's was definitely one of the best actresses around. She probably delivers her best performance in this film. Also big up to Kathleen McDermott as her friend Lanna. She's excellent as well. The soundtrack a mix of 60's, 70's and 90's is perfection, although I question if a character like Morvern and Lanna would listen to that type of music.
For me everything set in Scotland and the holiday resort is great. It just loses it's way in the last half hour and it really drags.
