Spain

Are there any other movies that involve Spain like this?? I'm not neccessarily talking about a movie set COMPLETELY in Spain, but I like the use of this country in it.

The only other movie I can think of that uses Spain in a similar way to this film is "It's All Gone Pete Tong" which features the rave scene in Ibiza. You might want to check out some spaghetti westerns, Sergio Leone's The Dollars Trilogy and Once Upon A Time in the West. Other good non Spanish films that use Spain well- Vicky Christina Barcelona, Limits of Control, Barcelona.

The film started out promising but went downhill the moment they set foot in Spain. The British perspective on the country was a tacky tourist cliché straight out of the 1970s: sombreros, sangria and donkeys.

Sorry...I don't agree.

Yes, the Spain scenes BEGIN with the cliched tacky hotel and drunk club 18-30's, but when they leave the hotel you see what I would consider real Spain - very barren, mountainous landscapes.

Most of the Barbet Schroeder directed film More is shot in Ibiza.

A very good movie for the OP is Sex and Lucia. Filmed in Spanish and set on the Spanish island of Formentera and other locations.

Lynne Ramsay's "We Need to Talk About Kevin" uses Spain in a strikingly similar way, although for a much shorter time.

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.
