just what IS this film about??

Before seeing it we're led to believe it's some sort of Texas chainsaw, hills have eyes thing set in Scotland with two travellers who come a cropper to a bunch of "locals"...

But it's not really like this at all, it's far more psychological than that... could someone explain to someone who thinks he enjoyed it, but didn't really "get it"
