Ollie and Maya

yes and no. They were taking it very slow in the film. It is obvious that Ollie is smitten with Maya but because of his baggage he doesn't allow himself to find new romances (hence 7 years no sex). In the rest of the film Maya nervously says "just friends" a lot even though she knows it is more (hence her breaking down in the porno section). The ending implies that Ollie finally lets himself move on to a new woman and that they will start a relationship when they are good and ready.

So yes there is romance, but for most of the film the characters try not to explore their feelings.

Well, it is that Maya is trying to get Ollie over his grief of his wife's death. I think in the end she has done that and maybe they will get together. The main point was the relationship between Ollie and his daughter.

For some reason the chemistry just wasn't there this time. Because for those who have seen Armageddon they have decent chemistry whereas in jg.
