i actually liked it

i recently saw this movie on scifi and thought it was awesome, or at least better than the crappy remake. i think this movie is underrated.

The mirror doesn't look like them, I guess it never will...

The remake kind of stole from this. Such as the girl being the survivor. The guy dying early on. I think this one was actually a little more enjoyable than the remake but, the remake was alright.

Yes I agree that the remake stole the idea of why not have the girlfriend survive instead of the boyfriend like the original movie did! They stole from this film and then done the remake. I did enjoy watching the remake though and thought it was a good film, but I need to watch the original The Hitcher because I am not too pleased to hear that in the original with C. Thomas Howell that his character lives and his girlfriend gets killed in the film.

believe it or not i finished watching it and loved it more than the "Remake", i own the dvd of the original 1985 and it rocks, this is a cool sequel that looks maybe like "made for tv" but its entertaining.

Kari Wuhrer was ok but she isn't the best actress ever she's great at sexy stuff though, the main actor was good but not great, Busey was real cool though he isn't the bad ass villain he is a twisted killer.

7/10 imo

Possibly SCIFI Channel made this into a TV movie instead of a direct to video movie. I am not sure, but I am just speculating here. Yes this was a good film and like you said Kari Wuhrer was not the best actress, but when it comes to sexy scenes she is great at it with her smoking hot body that she has.

Yes Busey was great as a twisted killer all right. It was really interesting that they had someone else pick up where the killer was killed off in the first film. I enjoyed it for a sequel even though I felt that they waited too long to do it though. Like I have stated before the sequel should have taken place in the early to possibly late 90's. I think it would have been better than waiting 18 years to do a sequel to the film.

No, it was direct to video and not cable. I remember when this first hit video shelves.

I watched the original and the sequel yesterday and I loved both of them. I haven't seen the remake though. I rate these movies 8 or 9/10.

UPDATE: I seen the remake and I rate it 10/10.

It's an enjoyable Straight to Video feature, it's not the best film ever but it is enjoyable. I got the DVD off eBay for $5 about two years ago.

The problem in my opinion is that they waited too long to do a sequel to the original film. Why could they have not done this in the early 90's or possibly even mid to late 90's instead of waiting until 2003 to do the sequel to the original? That to me does not make any sense at all even though it was a good film to watch.

That's true, but it was cool that they brought back C. Thomas Howell, and I thought Jake Busey did a great job as the Hitcher. But it would have been amazing if they did a sequel earlier with Rutger Hauer reprising his role.

Yes it was great to see that they brought back C. Thomas Howell back to play his role in the film instead of some other actor instead. I agree that it would have worked better to have Rutger Hauer reprising his role as John Ryder. Yes Jake Busey did a phenomenol job as the Hitcher all right. Yes I think if they had done the sequel earlier it would have helped out a lot though for us older fans of the original film instead of having us wait for so long to see what happens in the sequel.
