SPOILER!!!!!! U BASTARDS! YOU KILLED *** !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to watch another Highlander movie, they go and kill off Joe.

I guess none of it matters since no one other than Connor should have been around for any of the latter movies anyway...Connor won the prize so you'd think that everyone else would be dead, including Methos and Duncan. Yet in End Game Connor forces Duncan to take his head so he can beat ol' What's-His-Name.

I personally have never quite understood the thinking in 'Highlander: The Raven' since the lead character wasn't even Scottish!!!!

There are a few characters that really broke my heart to see get bumped off...(naturally Tessa) some of which were Fitz and Ramirez.

Glad to see that Adrian is still working, don't get me wrong. But this was nearly as painful as "Wraiths of Roanoake."

ADRIAN: Grow out the hair again dude!!!

Endgame was a brilliant movie compared to this. The Source took literally everything Highlander stood for and turned it into Star Wars all over again. Jacob Kell was a solid villain, if only because he played a pivotal role in Connor's life. The Guardian, on the other hand, is a bad imitation of Kurgan in a S&M outfit that's everything but foreplay.

reply

I agree. As I said before, "loss happens and is part of Highlander" be damned, they made a BIG mistake by killing Joe.

Also agree about the Raven, I mean in the way of a spinoff we have Methos, a 5000 year old man you can do anything with, and WHO gets their own show? The cheap whore and the thief. No accounting for taste there.

reply

Killing off Joe was probably more of a mistake then when they killed off Richie in the series. The writers serisously need to think before they kill off a beloved character. Who's next? (If there is a next) Methos? All hell would break lose then.

Having a Methos show would have been way better. I liked the Raven, but to see more of Peter as Methos would have been awesome! They could have done so much more with him then both Amanda and Mac put together.

I make Anthony Rapp look tan!

reply

I forget the continuity of it all but wasn't the character of Methos introduced after The Raven spinoff got underway?
Either way I agree that The Raven spinoff was bad and, IMHO, wholly uninteresting though it could've been good, at least.

Hmn..so they killed off Joe, eh?
Well I'd heard about this flick & wondered if I'd missed a good thing.

I guess not.

reply

they should have called it Highlander: the sauce
because i think they were on sauce to end highlander like this, what happend.

tarantino's a prat!

reply

No, Methos had been around a long time by then.

reply

it was a good thing that you missed this sad movie.

I just watched it and I want my life back

reply

"The Raven" was introduced in The Series season four or five. That's when I remember Elizabeth Gracen showing up with that godawful blonde hair. Methos had been introduced in the third season "Methos" after Kalas (David Robb) had begun ruining Duncan's life in the States.

The writers think they are actually doing something "right" when they go and kill off vital characters. like for example there are always constants in tv shows, like Duncan. the rest become beloved characters and you'd expect em to stick around till the series finale, but killing them off is the writers' way of "shocking" the viewers to keep them watching, to see what happens next. even though they suck miserably at it. Indeed, the Source is the worst of the bunch

reply

Indeed, just when I thought I couldn't be anymore disappointed than I had been with Endgame...I was proven wrong, DEAD wrong.

But still I say, they can't let it end at this, they should do another movie and this time they should make it good.

reply

Just finished watching The Source, this movie is REALLY far out there. Like really really far. I don't know if I'd rate it a 2/10 or anything, maybe a 5/10.

I just.. don't really understand why they thought this was a good idea to do a movie. Almost every time the camera moved I got a little bit of motion sickness.

Why not just make a 2-hour TV show, with a larger budget? Instead they went all crazy, and tried to make some sci-fi highlander hybrid thing.

Methos definitely should have been given his own show.

I think even if it was released at this point in time, after the writer's strike, it would hold up to the test of time. I have been re-watching Higherlander the series, and the only really really terrible thing about it is that it's set in the early 90's. Otherwise, most of the stories and ideas are very good and could still translate today.

Hopefully someone out there is still considering a Method spin-off.. I mean with Heroes and Lost and a dozen other shows, it's time for Fantasy series of all types to make a come back.

Why not pitch it to Sci Fi? Please, please?

reply

what's wrong with the early 90's? That was when the producers where willing to do the show and so it was set in the early 90's, Not much has changed since the early 90's anyway.

When they killed Joe, all I was thinking about was how glad I was that they didn't killed Methos. I really think when they finally do the final chapture of Highlander , Methos should be the last one standing. It started with him,and it should end with him. Adrian already stated that he wasn't doing another highlander. So I think it would be a great idea to have Methos take over. Since Dunkin is human now. lame. I hate that he gave up his mortaily in order to be with a women. It would have been better if he just gave it up for himself, with no one else involve.

Indeed...I swear, when they first wrote the script for this movie it must've looked REALLY good on paper, cuz in between it and what we got, there must've been a major disaster area in the middle of it because this is far from the 'great' film we were promised.

reply

Darius and Tessa were the hardest for me. Tessa because of the lovely Alexandra Vandernoot, and Darius because of what happened to Werner Stocker. I refuse to believe Richie's gone because that last episode of season five just sucked. And season six I refuse to believe ever existed other than "Indiscretions" because I loved the Joe and Methos Road Show.

I could have accepted them killing off Joe (although I'd prefer they not do it) if it was a good movie and moved the plot forward. However, Joe's death was pointless and tacked on, and this movie was so bad that I could hardly believe it, I almost expected Adrian Paul to say "just kidding, now here's the real movie" at the end.

It was truly horrible.

reply

The only consistency in the movie were Methos and Joe. I like to think this one is just one of Duncan's delusions while under some kind of bad quickening.
