This is crap! Should've been called Highlander: The Ret-Con!

As best I can remember from watching Highlander: Endgame years ago, Duncan was supposed to be the last immortal remaining, after Connor sacrificed himself in it to allow Duncan to become strong enough to beat the bad guy whose name escapes me. Yet now in this film at least four other 'immortals', the youngest of whom claims to be "only" 300+ years old. Why were these four never mentioned before and how did they somehow escaped the wrath of all the villains in the previous films? Oh wait, they didn't, they were just added specifically for this film as a ret-con of the previous films to make it more interesting.

All that aside, if you don't care about the Highlander 'canon' as I don't particularly (though the retcon still bugged me), the movie itself is crap. The special effects are special in the same way the Special Olympics are. They tried to rip-off the matrix as many movies have, but didn't even come close as the best they could do on a limited budget is show blurry, sped-up moves that were laughable in many cases. The cinematography and look of the film in many of the scenes looks borrowed if not out-right stolen from Blade II, by having a yellow/gold tinted lens in half the scenes. I swear i've seen some of the sets in this film in other films too, that forest with the tall trees looks straight out of Mortal Kombat. The villain was boring and really pointless to the story. It's funny that in each film they keep raising the stakes and making an even more powerful villain yet they get lamer and lamer with each movie.

I honestly think this is the final nail in the coffin for the Highlander films, if it's come to this low a standard I wouldn't expect any more.. unless they decide to do a big-budget Reboot one day like many other film franchises are seeing now.

Prepare yourself for the LOLOCAUST!

It is a not so uncommon misconception that Kell and Duncan were the last remaining immortals and that Duncan won the prize but that was never the case. Remember that Methos was in Endgame as well and he was never killed, which was made even more clear by his appearance in The Source. Furthermore, Kate/Faith remained as well (Producers' Cut at least). Amanda is still around although not present in the film.
