I love this game, but (very) unfortunately, it has a problem. I'm sure there's some patch, but I can't find it. It has happened several times. Regardless of era, civ, tech, or war/peace, it just comes up with that annoying windows thing "Civilization III has encountered a problem and has to close. We are sorry for any inconvenience." Inconvenience! I had been playing that game for over 5 hours! Nothing is left.
Does anyone know where I can find a patch?

Go to www.civfanatics.com. They have patches for all the games there. I hope that helps.
