A friend of mine thinks Kain is gay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

She thinks Kain is gay, he has a crush on Raziel...and thats why he killed Umah. needless to say her internal timeline knowledge is *beep* and shes a soul reaver fan.

Isn't science fun Mickey?

reply

Firstly, he only killed Umah because he thought she was a spy working for the Sarafan Lord, and, if your friend read the script/dialog, he considered to make Umah a queen (and I thought the only love story in this series was Ariel and Nupraptor). Secondly, he doesn't have a crush on Raziel, but thinks on him as a son or a brother, and that is why he prevented Raziel from entering in the Reaver blade

Even the outakes of Kain and Raziel's voice actors make comments about them being gay. He obviously didn't like Umah. Through the entire game he hates her and just because he says She could've been his Queen at the end when he kills her you suddenly atomatically assume he meant he loved her? She was like, the only Vampire left and that was more like a symbolism statement rather than a confession of love. Otherwise if he truly loved her he wouldn't have killed her! He seems to forgive Raziel just fine and doesn't just kill him.

Go to Legacy of Kain: Dark Chronicle website, acess the Script (dialog) session of Blood Omen 2 profile, go to CHAPTER 10 - THE WHARVES - BETRAYAL, and further to a part called The Price of Betrayal, and you shall read the following dialog:

As Kain continues through the Wharves, he encounters Umah. She is surrounded by several Sarafan corpses, but she is severely wounded. Kain kills the last Sarafan Knight for her.

Kain:
We meet again, Umah.

Umah: (breathlessly)
Kain...

Kain:
Yes. Kain.
I thought you were to bring the Sarafan Lord to his knees.

Umah:
I thought...

Umah collapses to the ground.

Kain:
I know.

Kain drops to one knee beside her as she speaks.

Umah:
It seems... I was wrong. I could not carry the fight... alone.

Kain:
You were brave to try.

Umah:
Kain... I'm dying.

Kain:
Yes. You are.

Umah:
I need your blood. Please. You can save me.

Kain bends forward and takes the Nexus Stone back.

Kain:
I know.
Tell me, child. Do you see me ruling Nosgoth?

Umah:
Yes, yes. I see it now.

Kain:
And do you believe that Nosgoth rightly belongs to me?

Umah: (desperately)
I do - I believe it, Kain. Please!

Kain:
... Then you may die, knowing the truth.

Kain strikes Umah with his claws.

Umah: (dying)
No!

Kain:
You should never have betrayed me.
You could have been my queen.

Umah: (dying)
Kain...

Umah dies.

Kain: (quietly)
Now you have left me alone...

Kain continues as planned. He reaches a yard where a demon is suspended in a cage. Vorador contacts him.

Vorador: (WHISPERING)
You must unleash the demon out of its cage. Then use the empty cage to smuggle yourself onto the ship.
Kain - be careful.

The demon kills the guards around it, then escapes entirely. Kain gets into the cage and boards the ship.

Analysing this dialog we can see Kain did considered to make Umah his queen once he had had defeated the Sarafan Lord, but then Umah stole the Nexus Stone to fight the Sarafan Lord herself. Kain tought she was working as a spy for the Hylden/Sarafan Lord (just as Magnus was doing for Kain when he was caught by the new Sarafan), so he could not forgive her, even if having a little possibility that he was beguinning to love her (do vampires love?).

reply

Yeah thank you for copying and pasting the whole thing >.< I know the entire LOK story by heart.

Notice how he's a smart ass:
Umah:
Kain... I'm dying.

Kain:
(sarcastically) Yes. You are.

I did not deny that she could have been his queen. I denied that he was IN LOVE with her. Oh and unlike what many LOK fans think. Kain did not begin to suspect that Umah was a spy for the Sarafan Lord until the end of the game when the Sarafan Lord begins to elaborate on a speech saying that all of Kain's allies turned against Kain and joined him.

Kain:
She chose her fate. Was she acting as the dutiful lieutenant, following her superior's orders? I care not. What's done is done.

-Here he suspects that she was simply following Vorador's orders as Vorador's Lietenant

The Sarafan Lord:
Do you think the game is over? Do you think it will end with me?
Have you not wondered why so many of your trusted henchmen, time and again, bend their knees before me, accept me as their lord, and join their cause to mine?

-And now he begins to suspect that maybe Umah was a spy working for the Sarafan Lord.

Kain:
Cowards and traitors deserve no second thoughts, only their complete annihilation.

The Sarafan Lord:
Did it not occur to you that perhaps my cause, and not yours, is the cause of right and justice? That your ambition to rule this world is but the youthful craving of a petty noble, who has gained too much power, but never enough?

Kain:
Silence, demon.
Your need to corrupt is only too apparent. But every traitor that you have turned to your will from my side, even Umah, your latest spy, is dead.

And Why is it that he couldn't forgive Umah for such a minor thing, but he forgives Raziel? Even though it is prohizized that Raziel is the Hylden savior, and even after Hylden posessed Raziel almost kills him??
Note how he says Umah should have trusted him, but Raziel MUST trust him. Raziel even compares himself to all the others that Kain simply killed when they didn't trust in his abilities and betrayed him.

Kain:
You must trust me, Raziel. Our intentions - for Nosgoth, for our futures - are not so diverse.

Raziel:
I must trust you - or?

Kain:
I have not come here to threaten you, Raziel.

Oh And on that note...if he really loved Umah Why did he kill her, and after that if he wanted to give her another chance why didn't he resurrect her instead of resurrecting Raziel? Oh and Kain goes through time and space just to change the future for him and Raziel...not him and Umah...or him and anyone else for that matter

reply

Actualy Raziel is an ambiguous being. Due to his remaking by the hands of the Elder God, he became "the only being who trully possess free-will", so he could choose between two courses: either to become the Elder God's Angel of Death and thus whip the vampires from the world, thus weakening the Pillars, therefore releasing the banished Hylden, or he could sacrifice himself and allow Kain, the Scion of Balance, to fulfill his destiny: to save Nosgoth.

[i][b]Pantelís thlípsi.[b][i]

reply

Yes Raziel has free will but the point is he is still prohizized to be the Hylden Champion in the murals.
Of course if Raziel truly hated Kain he would'nt have listened to him expalin that in the first place and would have just killed him. Excluding when he was posessed by the Hylden of course.

reply

If you're gonna say Kain is gay bcoz of that then every father in the world might as well be gay.
Raziel was one of Kains "sons"

reply

Apparently you haven't read all of my posts.
That is not the only explanation.

As you just now stated youself,
The word "sons" is always used in quotations in the game.
Example: Vampric "sons".

They are not biologically related.
Kain only resurrected them from dead Human Sarafan corpses to Vampires.

Plus, Kain always refers to Raziel as his "closest Lieutenant".
Not his "son", because It is deeper than that.

Otherwise why did he not choose one of his other "sons"
to survive and 'rule with him', instead of his 'favorite' Raziel?

He obviously treats Raziel differently than anyone, even than his other lieutenants, or as you say "sons".
Simply by the way he talks to and 'touches' Raziel.
(See Soul Reaver 1, and Defiance ending)
You can tell that they are more than 'Father and Son' or 'just friends'
Or you are suggesting a Father/Son incest?
I haven't seen a father touch his son like that before.

The realationship prtrtayed in the game is not that of Father and son.
As I said earlier, even the voice actors make statements about the portrayed gay realationship between them in the outtakes.

reply

it's simple. He hated umah after she betrayed him. I wouldn't forgive my girlfriend after i find her in my bed humping my best friend. I'd sucker her ass through the window and fling that other bastard after her, along with the dresser and maybe a novelty of some sorts... like perhaps a running chainsaw.

and why did he travel through time and stuff for raziel? raziel was the only one with free will and thus he held the only way for kain to rule as he felt he deserved.

the only person kain loves is kain. and raymond. everybody loves raymond.

Oh wow. What? Did I say something? Never mind.

reply

If you truly love someone, you would forgive them regardless of what they did.
Kain and Raziel forgave each other for all the *beep* that happened between them in the Series. That's what makes their love special.

OK. So Even if your girlfriend cheated on you, and you felt like you couldn't trust her anymore.
So You felt the only alternative was to break up with her, so that you wouldn't be hurt anymore.
Wouldn't you would still have feelings and a kind of connection to her afterwards because of all the moments you shared?
Would you really want to go and KILL Her afterwards?
If you did then that's not true love. That's not love at all.

Even When just My regular friends betrayed me. I didn't want to physically fight them afterwards, although I was hurt. There's always a connection that remains afterwards, that is why.
I was angry and sad, but I never felt that they should get seriously hurt or DIE.

Besides the situation with Kain and Umah was totally different.
Umah was never Kain's girlfriend and didn't cheat on him.
Kain killed her for stealing a piece of jewlery. >.> Come On! What kind of true love is that?

As I said in my other posts.........(*Sigh*) (Pretty tired of explaining it)
Kain already ruled Nosgoth.
That is NOT the reason Kain does all of that for Raziel.
He could have chose for any of his other lietenants to have free will by throwing them in the abyss, but he chose Raziel.
Kain CHOSE for Raziel to have free will and none of the other people he met in his life, because he loves him.

Kain:
The coin is still turning, Raziel. To reach the resolution we both can live with, that will best serve our futures, Janos Audron must not be raised.

Kain:
You must trust me, Raziel. Our intentions - for Nosgoth, for our futures - are not so diverse.

Raziel (possessed):
I must trust you -- or?

Kain:
I have not come here to threaten you, Raziel.

Raziel:
You say that, while you hold in your hand the instrument of my doom?

Kain:
I saved you from the Reaver once. I have no intention of imprisoning you within the blade.

Raziel:
At least not until the moment it serves your plans to do so.

Kain:
You are not the only one at risk. I may carry the instrument of your destruction, but I, too, have taken a chance in coming here. Or haven't you realized -- you bear the only weapon that can kill me.

Raziel:
Then you know what I am -- and who you are?

Kain:
I believe I do.

Raziel:
And still you think you can move me about like your pawn? Think again, Kain.

Kain:
Take heed, Raziel.

Raziel:
Why? If we are who we are, then are we not destined to fight to the death, to decide the fate of Nosgoth?

Kain:
Don't be a fool! I will not fight you!

If Kain was only just using Raziel for his destiny, then why did he risk his very life, his rule, and everything he worked for, by appearing before him in Avernus Cathedral? Even after he saw the murals that Raziel was supposedly the Hylden savior, the very enemies he despises, and would kill him?
Not to mention Raziel is the only person who could've killed him by devouring his soul.

If that was all he cared about he would've just sealed Raziel in the sword once Raziel wasn't cooraporating (Due to being possessed by the Hylden) and got rid of him. Similar to how he killed everyone else he knew who did the slightest thing that seemed like a betrayal.

He also wouldn't have cared that much when Raziel sacrificed himself.

Moebius (actually Raziel):
Kain...

Kain reflexively brings up the Reaver and impales Moebius through the chest once again.

Kain:
Do you so enjoy death?

Moebius responds strangely, with satisfaction

Moebius (actually Raziel):
Yes...
(notice how Raziel's uses the palm of his claw and touches Kain's cheek)

Then Moebius transforms, and Kain sees that it's Raziel impaled on the blade, just as Raziel's soul begins to leech into the Reaver.

Kain:
Raziel? - No! -

Kain tries to pull away, but Raziel takes hold of Kain's arm so that he can't.

Raziel:
Yes! - this is how...

Kain:
--No!, Raziel!

Kain resists, but Raziel pulls himself farther onto the blade.

Raziel:
The Soul Reaver -- pure of all corruption -- this is what it is for. This is what I am for --

Raziel puts his right hand over Kain's wounded chest. We see the purifying energy of the Spirit Reaver pass through Raziel and into Kain at this point, and we see the wound heal.

Raziel:
The two become one - both Soul Reavers - together - and the Scion of Balance is healed. And I -- am not your enemy - not your destroyer - I am, as before, your right hand. Your sword.

Kain resists, but more weakly --

Kain:
No, Raziel - this CAN'T be the way...

Raziel:
And now you will see -- the true enemy --

Raziel fades as his soul is consumed completely, passing into what is now, finally, the Soul Reaver.

Kain:
Raziel! –

Kain:
Had I condemned Raziel to this nightmare when I cast him into the abyss?

Elder God:
You and your Soul Reaver will go equally mad as the eons pass. The Citadel of the apostates will become your living tomb.

Kain:
Your words are heartening -
for you would not fear us unless we could truly do you harm.

Kain:
Now, at last, the masks had fallen away. The strings of the puppets had become visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed.
Most ironic of all was the last gift that Raziel had given me, more powerful than the sword that now held his soul, more acute even than the vision his sacrifice had accorded me - the first bitter taste of that terrible illusion : Hope.

The whole Legacy of Kain VideoGame series has proof of their relationship, but here are the most noticable scenes:

Legacy of Kain : Soul Reaver 1 Opening Movie (notice how Kain caresses Raziel's wings before regretably ripping them off. He turns away when Raziel is being cast into the abyss.)
Legacy of Kain : Soul Reaver 2 Ending (Kain says that Raziel is free to reclaim his true destiny. Then He wraps his arms around Raziel insistingly warning him of the new Paradox. How Janos should stay dead)
Legacy of Kain : Defiance - Vengence and Sacrifice Cienematic (Read Above)
Legacy of Kain : Defiance - Kain and Raziel Outtakes (in which the Voice Actors Michael Bell voice of Raziel, and Simon Templeman Voice of Kain, state they are gay.
Michael Bell: "And he says 'You say that, while you hold in your hand, the instrument of my doom.'(*places his hand over his chest*) Be still my heart" <3
Simon Templeman: "LOL!"
)

The End.
All in all I trust what Amy Hennig writes, all the scenes that occur throughout the Legacy of Kain Series, and what the Voice Actors and people who worked on the project say. Not a bunch of homophobes
