As I worked with the production I have more than clues, but I´m of course unable to spread information of what I know. I am not too impressed by people trying to correct other people in an inpolite way when they obviously don´t know what they´re talking about…

Why don't you try reading Bergman's interviews where he clearly states this production was made specifically for the television medium. It isn't so hard to look for information these days, afterall, you're using the internet, aren't you?

one can feel that it is movie made for television.
It is a TV movie, but I'm glad to say I had the honour of watching it on the big screen, in Portugal, about five years ago. It was my first Bergman movie, I had no idea it'd be his last. But what a lovely end for a career. Indeed this is a movie that transcends the TV medium and competes with real cinema.
This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.
I watched this on DVD last night and had no idea it was originally a made for TV movie. First of all, I guess nudity is good to go on Swedish television? Second of all, what a great movie! I have a hard time pairing the high quality of this with television. Regardless, I was riveted by the writing, the performances, the drama, the ending... Just a powerful movie.

Yes you can both swear and show nudity on television in Sweden. It's not as big of a deal as it is in the US.
Anyway. This is a great film and could've easily been made for the cinemas. But Bergman himself made it specifically for the TV medium.
