reply

It's about the movie's box office predictions right?

reply

Yea sorry 4.0 mil on friday and there estimates not predictions.

reply

They'll make their cost back eventually.

Brother Bear's pulled $200 million worldwide as of this week...and it's still going strong in Germany, among other places (and that doesn't include any of the home video revenue).

We all know Hellboy's going to cream the film...so let's just go see it and enjoy it awithout worrying about the box office...

reply

Yea I guess though its kind of sad knowing that this is going to be the last traditional animation movie

reply

I knew Hellboy will beat Home on the Range and i knew it will bomb the box office and besides, Nobody can't resist Ron Perlman.

"FUEL INJECTION!"-Freddy Krueger

And for those who saw it-wasn't it hilarious! I found myself LOL and the kids seemed to enjoy it as well. Loved the combo of Roseanne, Judi Dench and Jennifer Tilly-who were very funny together-and I really enjoyed all the other animals on the "organic farm"

reply

Roseanne is the best and worth the price od admissions alone.

Best case scenario - this will reach No. 3 by next week and then begin a gradual drop, depending on word of mouth. This movie strikes me as the kind where word-of-mouth will only pass from parent-to-parent really, and sometimes miracles happen. Heck - look at "Daddy Daycare." Number one in box office and it made over 100 million - and it honestly has to be one of the worst role models for a family film (Sure - kids like it, but kids will laugh at rape if it looks funny enough and they have no idea what's going on.) That's either divine intervention or a deal with the devil.

But my estimates - HOTR will bring in approximately between $30-40 million box office and then about $90-100 million on home video within the next several years. And that's if they're lucky.

~But hey - that's just me.~

Well if this any were as good as the Prince of Egypt then maybe it can make some money.Prince of ejpt debueted with 1bout 13 mil back in 1998 and grossed 101 mil.or maybe a smaller one like the road to el dorado opened to 12 mil and closed with 50 mil

reply

Not quite a "bomb" with 14 million for the weekend. If the production budget was 110 million, they aren't going to make it back from box office alone.

It is mediocre. About as good as their direct-to-video releases.

The theater we were in, a 6:30 PM show on Saturday, was less than half-full.

reply

But it was clear that Hellboy was going to kick Disney's ass.

If I can mix Code Lyoko, Anime, Freddy, Jason, Alien, Predator, Marvel and DC together.
